Happy 85th Birthday Grandpa

We were able to bring Grandpa home for a few hours to celebrate his Birthday. He seemed so happy to be home and have his family there too.

Farewell to my Friend

Last Thursday I had a going away party for my friend Rachel. We have been friends for as long as I can remember and I'm going to miss her so much. She will be spending the next year and a half serving a mission in Baton Rough, Louisiana.

5 Days in Zion

We spent a day in Bryce Canyon

It was so incredibly beautiful!

I guess we should have packed an extra change of clothes for Brinley, but we didn't. Here she is showing off her pretty pink fingernails.

We swam every night and Brinley LOVED it! Ok, the pool not so much, but we couldn't get her out of the hot tub.

The hike was amazing, but a little scary at times. As you can see, we were pretty high above ground.

We also did a little bit of biking

and we were so sad to leave this beautiful place.

Miller Motor Sports Speedway

Last weekend Troy, Sabra, Dustin and I went down to Miller Motor Sports Speedway

Sabra won go cart tickets and the boys were all excited because these go carts go 4o m.p.h.

They were so excited that the sneaky buggers managed to get themselves a free ride in these blue go carts.

We stopped at the Gateway on the way home for dinner and shopping for sunglasses. You can't get much shopping done with two boys around.

Welcome to Brinley's House

We bought a new patio set and fortunately it came in THIS big box. So, while Dad put the new patio set together Brinley and I turned this box into a house.
Here she is making her house into a home.

She played in it for hours and hours and now that we know how to keep her entertained please send all of your gigantic cardboard boxes our way.

Here is Brinley putting the finishing touches on her house. You can see she has even furnished it. She is such a fun little girl!

We Love Spring

Rainbows for Dinner???????????????

When driving home the other night I was so excited to show Brinley the beautiful rainbow out the window. She loved it! She couldn't get over it. She kept telling me she wanted it and saying "hold it mom" I tried to explain to her that she couldn't hold it and that rainbows were just to look at and of course she asked, "why?" and I tried to explain it to her. She seemed so frustrated that this beautiful rainbow was just to look at so next I hear,
"Eat it Mommy? I want it. Eat it"
"You want to EAT the rainbow?"
"Yes"
"Brinley, you can't eat rainbows."
"Why? I want it eat it rainbow"

Thanks so much Brinley for making me smile every single day of my life and for teaching that the simple things in life are what matter most. I absolutely love being your mom more that anything in this world.

Planting Flowers

No matter how close I watch her, every time I do yard work Brinley manages to pick flowers behind my back so we planted some to make up for my loss.

Girl's Trip

Last weekend I went on a girls trip. We stayed at this cabin by Heber. Our trip consisted of staying up late working on projects, watching movies, talking, eating lots of junk food and shopping in Park City, but if I'm being honest my favorite part of the trip was eating at Subway... I'm POSITIVE we found the worst Sandwich Artist EVER, but it was worth it because I am still laughing about it AND... we didn't even bring home the Swine Flu. Thanks girls for a great weekend. You guys are so much fun!
