Goodbye Hawaii :(

On our last day in Hawaii we were able to spend more time at the beach (my favorite thing).
Then we pretty much drove around the whole island that day and stopped at all the scenic spots, like the blow hole.  Then we headed home that night.

Goodbye beautiful Turtle Bay!

We couldn't wait to get home to Brinley and kiss her face off.  Unfortunately, she wasn't so excited to see us.  I was really surprised at how she handled the whole thing.  She tried to be tough, but wanted us to know she was mad at us.  She didn't ask for us or cry the entire time we were gone, but also didn't want to talk to us when we called her.  When we got home I was so excited to see her, but she just cried for us to get away from her.  It was clear that she was very upset with us.  When we got in the car she finally broke down and expressed that she was sad we left her there for such a long time.  She didn't want most of the stuff we brought back for her.  Stubborn little girl!  Took her a good week to get over it.

Hawaii (Day 6)

When we woke up we worked out and ran the stairs at our hotel then headed to Honolulu to hike the Diamond Head Crater.
We were hoping for a little more of a hike, but still loved the view from the top.

Then we headed back to Turtle Bay for some more snorkeling.

Hawaii (Day 5)

We ran the stairs at our hotel then raced on the beach, Dustin won.

We spent most of the morning at Pearl Harbor and loved learning more about the history of it, so cool!

Then we headed back to North Shore and went snorkeling.

We ordered dinner and took it to the beach to watch the sunset.  Love love loved this day!

Hawaii (Day 4)

(May 13)  Went running again.  Couldn't ask for better scenery.
Played all day at Wiamea Bay.

These waves were awesome!  We had so much fun playing in them!

Then a stupid monster wave stole my sunglasses and carried them to the bottom of the sea.

We stopped to see the Laie Hawaii Temple, it's so beautiful.

Then we went to the Polynesian Culture Center

It was such a fun day.

Hawaii (Day 3)

(May 12)  We ran the green line trail which takes you to the area where Lost was filmed.  It was fun to recognize some of the areas from the show.  On the way back from our run we walked down to the rocky part of the beach.  We spent so much time here.  We were amazed to see that these rocks were full of life.  There were so many sea shells with living creatures and crabs running all over the place.

You can probably spot about 5 crabs in this picture.

We drove down the East side of the island, stopped at the Macadamia Nut Farm, came back and ate dinner at a restaurant with the most beautiful view and watched the sunset.

Beautiful Hawaii

Day 2:  We never fully adjusted to the time difference, which was actually great because each morning we would wake up before the sunrise and watch it from our bedroom window (while I ate fresh coconut) yes, every morning.  We would then go running and eat breakfast on a bench or table near the ocean.  This particular morning we ran along the beach and through a small tropical forest.

(after our run)  It was so great to be able to workout with Dustin again.  Before we had Brinley that was kind of our thing, we worked out together all the time, even when we were dating so as dumb as it sounds some of my favorite Hawaiian memories are working out with my husband.

There were two parrots that sat on rings in the lobby of our hotel everyday.  They were so fun to watch.

We went to the Wiamea Botanical Garden, SO BEAUTIFUL!

Stopped at the Dole Plantation

didn't get a picture of the fields and fields of pineapples, dang it.

We spent most of the day in Waikiki, didn't absolutely love it, but it was fine for a day.

We loved the tropical birds and loved how they would come right up to you.

We stopped at another beautiful beach on the way back to the North Shore (where we stayed)

saw a sea turtle, missed our baby like crazy!

wait, we've been doing that since we left her on the 9th.

But still feeling blessed to be in such a beautiful part of the world.
