What Life is Like at Our House

I should probably be embarrassed to post these pictures, but I'm not. After all, I already posted the single worst picture I have taken in my entire life (at 3:00 in the morning and right after giving birth) anyway, life at our house gets pretty crazy sometimes. I have some really funny ones of Dustin, but he wouldn't let me post them.

The Circle of Life

A couple of weeks ago Dustin and I were listening to a song about a guy and how he later realized that being in high school was "no where near the best years of his life." It started a conversation between us about the best years of our lives. I asked him what the best year of his life was and before I could even get the question out he replied "right now, this is the best time of my life." I am so sad to say goodbye to the year 2007 because it truly has been the best year of my life. We have learned and grown so much! We stared the year out by watching this incredible miracle growing inside of me. And half way through the year I gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl. We have spent the past 6 months watching this whole new circle of life begin. Saturday we will end the year by paying tribute to my 94 year old Grandpa at his funeral. We love him and will miss him, but I think his circle was a circle well lived.

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth

Yep, Brinley is cutting teeth (her two lower central incisors). I am so excited! I think babies look so cute when they start to get teeth. However, I can't believe she is old enough for that yet. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being parents and are looking forward to our first Christmas as parents. I think we are finally starting to understand what life is all about.

Brinley had her 6 month appointment yesterday. It was not her best day. She had to get three immunizations and a flu shot. We also found out she has eczema which isn't a big deal, but no more smelling like a baby for her. She is now 25 3/4 inches long and weighs 12 pounds 9 ounces. We would have liked to see a couple more pounds on the scale, she is only in the 2%. Hopefully she will chunk up soon. I did put away most of her newborn clothes and that made me sad, but it's fun that she actually fits into some of her clothes now. She continues to amaze us with her development. It seems like every time the doctor asks us if she is beginning to do something, we look at him like Yea, she's been doing that for weeks.

Baby Bling

Yesterday was Brinley Behl's 6 month Birthday so we took her to get her ears pierced. After she got the first one done I pretty much felt like the worst mom in the whole world. Having the entire mall as an audience and the little girl yelling "No" didn't help, but Brinley was a tough little cookie and only cried for a minute. Plus, she looks way cute. I think she has forgiven me. Good thing she won't remember it.

Wishing she could crawl

Brinley is starting to get up on her knees. I can just tell that she wants to be mobile. I try not to encourage her very much.

Merry Christmas!

We tried to take some pictures of Brinley to put on our Christmas card.
She was more interested in the Christmas presents.
It looks like she found one with her name on it.
And this is what I got when I told her she has to wait until Christmas.

So sleepy

Brinley's new favorite thing

Brinley LOVES to talk to her dad on the phone. She recognizes his voice and will talk to him and giggle. She smiles the entire time she is on the phone with him.

Our Christmas Tree

Our Bugga Behly

Brinley makes our house so much more fun!

Real Food

This was the first time we fed Brinley "real food" well, I didn't think there was anything "real" about it, but she dug right in and thought she was big enough to feed herself. Don't worry, we did buy here some spoons that weren't so big. Since these pictures were taken she has learned that rice cereal is NOTHING to get excited about. Give her peas and bananas and she's a happy girl.

Our family

Dustin took some pictures of us (Brinley is super sleepy).
So, we took some of him too.
He's a funny guy!

Way to busy for pictures!

It was so much fun to spend the weekend with my family and normally I would have taken a ton of pictures (at least of our traditional gingerbread making day), but we spent to much time shopping and I didn't have time to run home to get the camera. We have so much to be thankful for, but most of all I am thankful to be a mom. It is truly a blessing and the funnest thing I have ever experienced. Brinley is so funny. I wish I could just follow her around with a video camera so that I don't miss anything. I am so amazed at her determination. She is growing up way to fast. We gave her rice cereal for the first time two days ago and she already wants to feed herself. I can't believe the progress she has made in just a few short months. Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks and I couldn't go without publicly posting about the thing I am most thankful for. I am so thankful to be a mom! It is the best thing in the whole world. Being Dustin's wife is next.

Best Friends

I love being Brinley's best friend. I love that she would rather be with me than with anyone else. I have to cherish these moments because I know that she may not feel the same way about me in 15 years.

More about football (I got this in an email and thought it was good enough to share)

Football FINALLY makes sense.......... A guy took his blonde girlfriend to her first football game. They had great seats right behind their team's Bench. After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience. "Oh, I really liked it," she replied, "especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they were killing each other over 25 cents." Dumbfounded, her date asked, "What do you mean?" "Well, they flipped a coin, one team got it and then for the rest of the game, all they kept screaming was: 'Get the quarterback! Get the quarterback!' I'm like...Helloooooo? It's only 25 cents!

Happy Halloween!!

It was really hard to find a costume small enough for Brinley. We should have known she would look cute in anything. Dustin and Brinley

Grandma Debbie

Our nephew Karson is so funny. He keeps us all laughing. I guess yesterday his dad picked him up and he said, "let me just tell you dad, I'm mom's baby" so today my mom (Grandma) said, "tell him he's Grandma's baby" his responce was "nut uh, Brinley Behl is Grandma's baby" I had to laugh because for some reason Brinley Behl is not a big fan of her Grandma. Everytime my mom picks her up or even talks to her she crys. It's ok though because I know that someday they will be good friends. What's not to like? Grandma is everyones favorite!

HAPPY 4 MONTH BIRTHDAY BRINLEY BEHL

Brinley had her 4 month appointment today. She is doing so good and growing so fast. She tips the scales at 11 pounds 14 ounces with her onsie and a wet diaper on. Dustin is such a good dad! He has made it to all of her appointments with us. She had 3 shots today and only cried for a second. WHAT A SUPERSTAR!!

Can you believe that after being together for 6 and 1/2 years we just recently had our first candlelight dinner? We had to take a picture because this obviously doesn't happen much.
Brinley enjoying the swing her Grandpa Mike bought for her.

The game of life.
Happy Halloween!
We made these cookies and cupcakes for our families.

And Brinley has just about mastered the whole rolling thing.
