Baby Kisses

This morning Brinley and I were just playing. I would kiss her cheek and she would laugh, then I would kiss her cheek and she would laugh etc. Then I said, "ok, you give mom kisses" and she actually leaned over and kissed my cheek. It was pretty much a french kiss on my cheek (similar to a Roxy kiss). I was amazed! So, of course we had to give kisses all morning and there is no doubt in my mind that she knows exactly what she is doing.

Growing and growing

I took Brinley to get her second dose of the flu shot today so I made them weigh her. She weighs 14 pounds 12 ounces. It looks like that $30 a week in formula is really paying off.

What's New?

It seems like everyone is always asking me what's new. I usually just say nothing, but the truth is... with Brinley there is always something new. Like, she now gets up on her knees and elbows and I can just see how badly she wants to crawl. She can now sit almost completely up if she uses one elbow for support. She is always trying new food, the latest is baby yogurt and granola. Today she discovered how to splash while in the bathtub. She definitely knows how to get her way and throwing fits has become part of her daily routine. Things are constantly changing at our house and we love it that way. It has been so fun to watch Brinley grow. It seems like every time I turn around she changing and growing and doing something new or saying something new. So, there you go. Everything is new and we love it!

A-DUH

So, a few weeks ago Brinley started saying "A-Duh". Dustin was convinced that she was trying to say Dad. I told him that she had no idea what she was saying, she was just making noise. Last night about an hour after I put Brinley to bed I was doing dishes and could hear her. I though she was crying, but as I stood outside of her door I heard that A-Duh had turned into "Dada" over and over again. I got the video camera so Dustin could hear her (he was at work). I too am now convinced that her first word was Dad. It's so cute, but I am kind of jealous of him.

Everything happens so fast!

The other day Dustin was holding Brinley and talking to her, but she just kept looking at me. I walked over to them and put my arms out. She totally leaned forward and extended her arms out to me. It was clear that she wanted me to hold her and although Dustin's feelings were a little hurt I LOVED it!

What a wild sleeper

The other night I got up with Brinley around 4:00. She likes to be tucked in really tight, so I tucked her in and went back to bed. We have a video monitor, but I wasn't watching it. I just assumed that she had gone back to sleep because she wasn't talking or making noises. When Dustin got up, he went in to kiss her and tell her he loves her before he went to work. He said that she was sleeping kind of folded in half. When we sit her up she falls forward with her head between her legs kind of folded in half. Dustin found her sound asleep in a similar position. Ahh, she keeps us laughing. Our favorite thing to do is check on her an hour or so after we put her to bed to see what position she has managed to get herself into.

We went skiing yesterday. I was a little rusty since I wasn't able to go last year, but we had fun.
