Scarecrow Fest

We took the girls to the farm to see the Scarecrow fest.  The Statue of Liberty was our favorite!  But then again I do have a little love for the Statue of Liberty.  I just think it's amazing!

 

Halloween '13

All of our nieces and nephews came trick-or-treating with us this year.  Except for Kaden, he's apparently too old for that now.  Cute Kars came late so we didn't get a picture of him.  The kids had a blast tick-or-treating together then we went to Steve and Jill's for their traditional Halloween dinner.  Yum!

Our First Date... again.

Dustin and I had our first date at Lagoon like 13 years ago.   We have been back quite a few times, but never with just us.  This fall we went to Lagoon... just the two of us... like on a date.  No kids.  It was weird. And maybe it was because we had just gotten home from Disneyland?  Don't get me wrong, it was fun, but we seemed so old.  It's definitely the hangout for teenagers.  I'm pretty sure we were the only ones their our age without kids with us, we still had fun, but it's no Disneyland. 

Pumpkin Patch

My parents took all of the Grandkinds (the ones that could come) to a Pumpkin Patch in Paradise and let them all pick out a pumpkin.  Growing up I took for granted what a beautiful place I lived in.  It's moments like these that are what life is all about.  It's moments like these that I pray my children will remember, that someday when their grandparents are just a memory they will truly know the kind of Grandparents they were and that they too will make their family the center of their universe. 

Headed For Home (Day 11)

Blah!  The worst day of our trip by far!  They girls were great, but put them in a car for 11 or 12 hours and that's enough to drive everyone crazy.  We about left them on the side of the road a few times, but when we came through the canyon into beautiful Cache Valley we were so glad to be home!  We were gone so long that it felt like we missed half of October (because we did), I love October!  It's such a beautiful month, especially here.  We were glad to be home to fall leaves and crisp air.  Brinley was so sad to leave Troy (spelled Chroy I guess), sabra and their dogs so she colored this picture as she sulked on the way home.   Funnest trip ever!  Seriously was! 

Palm Trees and Pumpkins (Day 10)

 

Troy and Sabra took us to a fun Halloween carnival.  It was weird to see pumpkins and palm trees in the same spot.  The kids had fun despite being completely warn out!  The adults had fun too.  We watched pigs race, rode rides, raced pedal bikes etc. 

Hoy-ya! Karate Chop (Day 9)

So sad to say goodbye to Palm Springs!  We had such a great time!  We did a little bit of shopping then headed for home, or so they thought (of course we had another surprise for them).  After driving for quite some time Brinley informed us that she had to "go potty."  I told her we would just stop at someone's house in a few minutes and ask them if we could use their bathroom.  We went to someone's house, knocked on the door... that someone was Sabra!!  We just couldn't drive all that way without making an effort to see Troy and Sabra in Arizona!  It took Brinley a bit to realize where we really were.  I later had to explain to her that I would never just stop at a stranger's home and ask to use their bathroom.  Needless to say, we had a BLAST!  Sabra and Brinley had a mini dance party, London enjoyed being mauled by the dogs and Dustin and Troy karate chopped boards in half, silly boys!  Their home is adorable and we are so glad they let us crash there for a few days.

What a Beautiful Place (Day 8)

We spent the day at the resort, just enjoying every last minute of warmth, sunshine and swimming in this beautiful place.  

(Day 7) Disneyland!!

We had an absolute blast in Disneyland!  The girls sported their new Minnie Mouse shirts, the weather was great, we loved the rides, and the characters.  We just love everything about Disneyland.  It was really fun to spend the day there, just the four of us.
